Maharishi Sthapatya Veda® House— Fairfield, Iowa 2003/2004

I prepared these schematic design sketches (of a floor plan devised by Susana MacGregor of Maharishi Global Construction), for a client of Jon Lipman.

The sketches illustrate a scheme for a small, one-bedroom, super-insulated house located in Fairfield, Iowa. The exterior walls are one foot thick with blown-in cellulose insulation producing an R-value of 40. The roof has nineteen inches of blown-in cellulose insulation producing an R-value of 60. The exterior walls are board and batten siding. A solar collector provides supplemental heated water.
