This is a version of the LiveWire Utilities that installs from Windows, posted 9/20/00. To install these utilities, download this program to the drive that contains LiveWire and then double-click on it, and it will self install from Windows. Note: this utilities program is too large to fit on a floppy diskette, so you must download this from the computer that is running LiveWire, otherwise use the instructions listed below to make a standard LiveWire Utilities disk.

The latest version of the LiveWire Utilities that installs from DOS was posted 9/25/00, and is for LiveWire Users 8.00 and above. It contains the following enhancements:

The CONTINUE utility allows you to make continuous futures charts!
The drivers for Comstock users to use a network card to feed data from their high speed satellite.
A new utility for setting the time to the National Time Standard.
An updated utility for merging LiveWire historical data files.
The icon to run LiveWire under Windows 95.
Utilities for importing and exporting data.
An updated boot disk procedure(WIN 3.1, 95 or DOS).
An updated HC utility which accurately detects a 16550 UART.
An updated PRINTIC that filters the ticks by volume.
A backup utility to facilitate moving LiveWire from one computer to another,
which functions correctly across different versions of MS-DOS.

After downloading the LiveWire Utilities, uncompress the file to a floppy by typing the filename(liveutil.exe) followed by the floppy drive letter (usually A:). Then update your utility version by installing them again from the new disk. A README file is installed in the LW directory along with the utilities. Type readme at the LW prompt to view it.

LiveWire Multiple Boot Procedure For Windows 95
Many LiveWire users have asked us for help with configuring a multiple boot procedure on their Windows 95 systems. While we are unable to individually walk our users through the setup, the text file below has guidelines.

The NEWKEY Shareware Utility, For Users Of Versions Before 8.0
This utility is a shareware program we found that helps to automate changes in large portfolios. While we do provide global symbol settings changes in Version 7.00, there are some settings that are not included purposely, such as saving tick data. This is because an underpowered or improperly configured machine would crash (or worse) if such a setting was implemented. Having said that, many users with adequate systems have asked for some automation in this area. This utility provides a useful way to send multiple repetitions of keystroke patterns. We have used it here to save the ticks for large numbers of symbols. We do not support this program (so please do not call us asking how to use it), but we strongly suggest that, if you use it, you register and pay for it.
